Faith Avenue: With Oladele Tobiloba Emmanuel

THEME: MAKE GOD YOUR HOME!
TEXT: [AMP] PSALMS 91:9-10
Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, [10] There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.



God is a home to every Christ believer because it's in Him that they all live, that they all move and that they all have their being (Acts 17:28). Your life would absolutely become vulnerable when you refuse to stay in God or make Him your very own home. The name of the Lord alone can accommodate you and keep you safe in times of trouble when you call upon that name because it's a strong tower to a righteous man (Proverbs 18:10). So making God your home becomes possible when you're at peace with Him and you're in Him.

[AMP] Colossians 3:3 says; For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. To make God your home, you have to die. How? By putting everything that belongs to your earthly nature [ sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry] to death as this will cause your life to be hidden with Christ in God. So God will be a home to you as far as your life is in Him. Making God your home also becomes possible when you stay joined to Him and His words remain in you (John 15:7).

When you make God your home, no evil can get close to you and no harm can get through your door. There's no refuge anywhere that's secure as God. So to make God your home, you have to be in Christ. How can you be in Christ? To be in Christ is to receive Him as your personal Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9). When you're in Christ, you're in God because what binds you together with God is the life of Christ in you. David made God his very own home and no evil befell him, nor did any plague or calamity came near his tent. This can be your everyday experience too when you make God your home. Live in God each day and you won't have to be troubled by any form of evil.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for Your Word. Now that I know that to make You my very own home, there's need to stay joined to you and to Your Word. Please Lord, help me to stay joined to You so that I can live in You each day as my very own home in order for me not to be troubled by any form of evil in Jesus Christ name.
