Mzansi On Notice: JOP a Force Of Good Energy.

Mzansi On Notice: JOP is on the table and serving and hosting a dinner that promises to inspire.

We recently had a chat with the popular, role model, Creative and Business Man who not only gives you insanely good music but humor, motivation, poetry & delicacy that's mouth watering. Here's what went down.

Welcome to Mzansi Avenue
Thank you for joining us. How are you?

JOP: I'm good thanks and you?

MCK!NG: We're good thanks. Who is JOP, what does he do? Why does he do it?

JOP: JOP is a pseudonym for Jesus Of Poetry. He is a music artist who is traditionally rooted to his mother tongue Sepulana. As an artist with a lot of poetry background he enjoys himself a lot when he sings Hiphop music with a touch of any genre that he is inspired by at any moment in time of doing music, he named it Mtumtum.

MCK!NG: What's your daily motivation?

JOP: Life is a gift that has to be shared with the whole world, and there's a great reason why God is still sparing mine. Also, hope for a less corrupt and more progressive nation keeps me going.

MCK!NG: Wow, truly beautiful. As a multi talented act and a father, how do you distribute your attention evenly to everyone around you and your work? Does it ever get too much?

JOP; Honestly I don't know how I do it but I assume that since my work is a matter of public consumption, all the people around me get to understand why I sometimes disappear on them when they see my work. For me balance is illusion, I have never reached a point of feeling that I'm doing too much of all the things I do.

MCK!NG: How many projects have you released so far and what's the reception been like with your music?

JOP: Music wise I have released three projects on hard copies. The 1st project did very well. The last two projects didn't do that well because the world has advanced technology wise and people prefer to consume and listen to music digitally. We see even the motormobile industry phased out the CD player music systems to Bluetooth music systems. So the challenge pushing CD sales is a very painful reality.  Currently I only push my music online. Mostly singles, but in 2021 I released an EP titled KLASSIKJAMSINAPOLO. I must say that I was shocked by the reception of specifically one song titled OUTSIDE which was streamed more than 55 thousand times. For that I'm releasing an online album this year. In short I'd (say) the graph is unpredictable.

MCK!NG: Wow, that's amazing, can't wait for your latest project. What's your biggest regret and why?

JOP: That's a personal question but I'll answer it anyway. During the last days of my wife's short life she's been begging me to cook for her cause' she's been hearing that I'm a good cook but I kept dismissing her pleas. Then out of all her birthdays that I never forgot or planned anything for her, I planned her 29th birthday in 2019 when she was very sick in bed. Her sickness got very worse on her birthday that I even forgot all the plans and to merely wish her a happy birthday. That's on top of the list of my regrets, then I regret the day I tasted booze.

MCK!NG: My sincere condolences. Peace & Love to you. If you could work with anyone, national or international who would it be and why?

JOP: I want to work with everyone, all of them. I want to be in the presence of their anointed spiritual realm so that I can learn from them and teach them all I know.

MCK!NG: Your favorite song out of all the songs you've recorded?

JOP: All my songs are my favorites that's why I have recorded them and listening to them daily when I'm in my car.

MCK!NG: Favourite collaboration? With who?

JOP: My best friend Sabalala. I love his voice and passion for music is enticing, he taught me quiet a lot in music.

MCK!NG: How and when did Back 2 Boiketlo start? What does this event represent?

JOP: B2B is DJ Soft's baby. As a producer he wanted his music and all Bushbuckridge made Hiphop music to be heard by people of all ages and every corner of the world. The challenge was and still is that most music events happen in booze spots and if it ever happened anywhere else the organizers would rather bring the "so called national artists" and overlook local talent. So the need for an event that can invite all artists to promote their talent was born and the people named it Back2Boiketlo

B2B represent all local artists eventhough some artists don't feel that way, at least that's what the organizers believe they're doing.

MCK!NG: You also have a talk show, what else can you do?

JOP: I can do anything that I set my mind to do at any given inspirational time. I believe I'm going to be the President of the Republic of South Africa some day in future.

MCK!NG: What's your favorite lyric you've ever written?

JOP: Hahaha! The poem that I wrote to get the attention of my late wife titled "Remove the mask" eishhh! Mxm I miss her so much.

MCK!NG: She's always with you in spirit. How would you best describe your sound and lyricism?

JOP: My sound is simply Mtumtum. My lyrics is a coded lingo rich in poetry that is yet to hit hard in people's consciousness, many say I'm naughty with lyrics, girls say I'm good with words.

MCK!NG: Like your word play already. Since you're a Dad, ever wrote a song about your kids?

JOP: If there was anything I've waited for a long time to do, is writing songs dedicated to my kids and shooting music videos with them. Prophecying their future, praise them, warn them, bless them and shower them with wisdom and love. My life would not be complete without me dedicating songs to my daughters. I have written two songs and a video for my first daughter, one song for second daughter and one song for both my daughters. I love all my projects.

MCK!NG: That's so awesome!! You're like a rich library of good vibes and insight. Thank you so much for joining us. We appreciate it.
