This week on Pop Essentials we have the breakout star Reneé Rapp whose best known for her theatre & onscreen performances of Mean Girls/ Sex Lives Of College Girls on HBO max and recently started pursuing her music career to great reception with her releases. Currently signed to Interscope Records.
Too Well is a shimmering clunky pacing buzz track that's insanely catchy with a fun tone. we can't get enough of. It's the type of song you find yourself singing along to. Lyrically centered around her reflecting on the aftermath of a relationship and the progress she's making while noting setbacks as she sings "I'm back where I started again, crying and calling my friend" on the prechorus before the chorus bursts into a fun open up session.
The song is a single from her debut studio EP: Everything To Everyone.
Which has a deluxe edition with brand new tracks, available on all streaming platforms.
Too Well is a 5/5. We recommend it as a playlist essential. Our favorite highlight is the song's cool down outro, it's so refreshing as not many songs bow out like that. Plus can't sideline the retro vibes the song has, you'd swear it's a soundtrack to an epic movie..
