Album Appreciation: Wild Youth by Dabin

Dabin is one of the most amazing and underrated producers in the industry, highly impeccable productions with interesting collaborations, his signature sound is definitely one that stands out in today's age of music. He's not blending in the usual ingredients but coming in with a whole new smoothie that tastes like a record you can't get enough of! 

Wild Youth is an album released in 2019. Features singles such In Flames which feels more like an intimate ballad not your usual song on radio but definitely something you'd hear at a music festival. Just like a fire this song builds up till it peaks with sparks of warmth and chill. 

Part-time Lover features Claire Ridgely it's a guitar driven that strings a limited romance, with an elegant yet catchy and vibrant tone that brings together a part of the theme of the album, the youthful of wanting something not too serious just carefree and fun. 

The postchorus is trippy..

Lights Ft. Trove 

Lights is the first song I heard on this album and I immediately fell in love, wow it's such an empowering ballad. The chorus is a soothing moment of bliss, it steals the spotlight as Trove sings "Some nights I can't explain the way I feel, the way I'm wired" over a calm beat that bursts into a harmonious ambience. 

Youth Ft. Yoe Mase 

Youth is a therapeutic record, with a coaching chorus. It's more of a laidback record compared to the other songs on the album, it still delivers production wise, offering a good listen that captures the moment. Dabin proves he knows how to bring different elements together and make them work without overpowering each other instead compliment and collaborate a crisp, refreshing sound of good music. 

Rings & Roses Ft. Conor Byrne 

It feels very Hip Hop-ish with its glittering intro, another intimate record on the album. Lyrically it's more of like being ghosted, having the wrong crowd and allowing materialistic possessions to be the fulfillment when they aren't. The prechorus is pop kiss blush. Conor is the perfect vocalist for this song, he truly brings the energy of this song out beautifully. 

Bloom Ft. Dia Frampton 

Bloom lives out to its name, as the song progresses it's like a flower blooming and the beat break has chinese elements that chime a charm of an unforgettable record. Wild Youth proves to be a force of sonic nature, a beat of the wild that can't be tamed, it's raw, real, a massive experience of music.
