Avenue Lifestyle: Holy Maintenance - Swim Deeper, No Way You'll Drown in Christ.

Welcome to the month of Spring also known as the month where we celebrate New beginnings. On Avenue Lifestyle we are opening our Bibles and searching for deeper insight into how we can definitely be Holy and what it takes to be Holy and remaining in position. Tempting offers are a thing and so are compromising contacts should you delete? Turn down? Now right? What about later? 

We often find ourselves called by many things, they somehow seem louder than God's call, parental guidance and social reception. We lose a signal of good connection for one that will have us stumbling into the bad and deceitful. Why do we respond to the world? It's because it customises and shape shifts into what we desire, it's like a marketing campaign aimed at misleading you yet appears sincere, making you feel seen, cared for and most of all catered for. (For sin pays its wage death Romans 6:23 & James 4:4)

Your weaknesses aren't going to be evident at first, it'll just be you wanting to scratch an itch, the excuse is always human nature, part of our design so we often cover up the guilt with "everyone slips up now and again or it was just this once" this doesn't help deal with the problem it is an indirect enabler, a maybe instead of a no. In the Holy Scriptures the Israelites were compared to a prostitute because of their unfaithfulness to God. Yes! When you're in a relationship with someone the values, goals and purpose of it all can't be set aside for what's outside of it. You can't commit yourself to loving only one person yet ready to embrace others in secret, don't you know there's light in you? It can't coexist with the dark. We are pulled in so many directions and because we are in tune with the flesh it's easier to choose your phone and scroll through social media than to pray. It's easier to give in to sexual desires because the spirit isn't well fed, if the desires of the flesh are dominant how can we certainly please God? We weren't created to die at the hands of destructive cravings that seem like a classic "everybody's doing it and they're doing just fine, why not me?" Are you going to be moved by people's choices and decisions or you'll seek the purpose and intention of God your maker? 

It becomes difficult to Love and do the things of God because we have to be led by His spirit and if that's not the case, we'll claim to be of God yet are led by the world and no one wants "I never knew you" (Matthew 7:23) we all are expectant to hear "Well done my good and faithful servant, come in and share my happiness" (Matthew 25:23). So when we receive God we need to fully embrace Him. No more room for sin, for you or accommodating anything contrary to who God is. Let God transform you unless you let go of the steering wheel you'll always go your way while declaring "God is the one in control" giving an impression that is just empty words, our lives end up in turmoil near ruin and we wonder "I've been walking with God so how did I get here?" Did you mean to say God is with you but you're not in line with God's plan for your life, you're praying for your will, your own goals and objectives that it's not about you embracing the adoption to sonship? Servanthood and as in Galatians 5:25. The spirit controlling our lives.

Look at Christ He came in the form of man, only to do the will of He (God) who called Him. Do you know what God's will for your life is? Are you in or out? Talk about equations, numbers and things have to add up, removing the sin, adding in righteousness and Holiness. A multiplication in the body of Christ, soul winning and all. Holiness isn't willed by man, God is Holy and so are His ways so we need to be truly connected via Christ our Lord and Savior as He's the Way. Truth & The Life. 

Don't find yourself trying to lead where God should be. A servant doesn't call the shots. He's given an identity, a role and is instructed on how to do the work, equipped. Our lives are found in God. So we can't step in just to live the former that brought about destruction, condemnation and seperation from God. Don't burn bridges by allowing sin to speak and spread a message of decay, as the scriptures say where sin is concerned you're dead to it. 

God is able to keep things in order according to His likeness where His nature will be seen/witnessed. We too need to be children who showcase the details of our Heavenly Father. Be Holy as I Am Holy - the Lord declares (1 Peter 1:16). So as He's the Head and source of all creation who are we to be defiant? Rebels and start a resistance of going to war with Him who LOVES us?

I've been tossed about by many different ideas, teachings and offerings yet God's truth and power kept me in place that nothing else may move me but His power and will. I've seen mountains I tried moving by my own strength till He showed me that He's my everything and each day I see Him in a new way as He exposes me to His truth, love and how He isn't moved by circumstances nothing can change who He is but moves for us as God, showing who He is. 

Doers of the word as in James 1:19;27

When God calls we'll be able to hear Him if we truly be for Him and nothing else. Paying attention to Him, submission to the Almighty. Every part of you belonging to God and never ready to compromise, no matter what's on the table, knowing you eat only from God's table. The bread of life doesn't go with anything else. Christ didn't bond with the world but He drew it to God, breaking the union and setting a way for mankind to be reconciled with God via His death and resurrection. 

So when God speaks, as children we will hear Him as His sheep know His voice. He's calling us out of sin, out of the world because it's not our home, out of our own way or paths paved by men that lead to nowhere/dead ends, out of self reliance, reliance on man (Psalm 146) to Himself who is able to Forgive. Love. Show mercy and His faithfulness lasts forever Psalm 10:5. Today don't follow Christ yet be one who willingly sins be transformed and renewed, build and grow deeper in your Relationship with God. Set your heart/thoughts on Heaven. The earth is passing away but you have a home that is forever promised. 

So let's not take these temples which are our bodies and offer them to ungodly activities or be engaged in unwholesome talk. Confess Christ, the truth of God. Let no one redirect you. Trust yourself completely to God that He may finish the good work He started in you.

Maintenance comes in remaining in Christ. He will keep you in position knowing that you are His and serve no other role in this world. Only representing Heaven and the Power of God. As a Son/Servant/Daughter.

Let it only be God. Jehovah
