Avenue Music: Perrie's eponymous debut studio album: Beautiful, Intimate Experiences. Personal Hits done Right!

Official Artwork/ Columbia Records.

Signed to Columbia records this girl group alumni and Award Winning Artist has finally released her debut studio album which had fans long awaiting it since she first announced her solo career in music. Perrie kicked off with the Ed Sheeran penned lead single Forget About Us which is very catchy, warm and comforting, a roadtrip getaway kind of track.

Tears &  You Go Your Way followed which was well received by fans and critics, an anthemic moving on ballad that has massive power in its chorus, Perrie belts her way to freedom with this 80s inspired track.

Cute Aggression is soft rock nostalgia as Perrie gets very vocal about her love and affection for Alex, whom she loves in a way that scares her and it's such an energized song sure to give you the feels.

Rocket Scientist which was supposed to be the lead single is one song that sounds amazing, the lyrics are so good and express an intimate dissatisfaction as Perrie notes how love shouldn't be toxic over an airy blissful track surely delightful....the chorus never really takes off as it goes in a different direction that still maintains an enjoyment.

Miss You, a terrific ballad, turning tables and burning bridges at the realising that she's missing who her former lover used to be not that she wants him back, Perrie reminds us that she can sing and doesn't hold back a note.

Same Place, Different View - it feels like Perrie coming to terms with reality and embracing what she longed struggled to accept, the sorrow in a friendship/sisterhood meant to be a for life thing. On Little Mix's debut studio album there's We'll Always Be Together and LM5 has Told You So which gave us a close-knit connection between the girls which seems to have been a cut at the thread.

If He Wanted to He Would, One of her best releases, an epic chorus, an excellent and definitely you'll sing along to Pre-Chorus, Perrie is a girl's best friend who replaces Diamonds with her good sense and good advice. Over the euphoric tinged country pop banger.

Baby Steps starts so elegant and poised like a bride on her wedding day before she bursts into beauty, it's a solid ballad with lots of highs and her voice commands attention, you can't help but wanna hear more, no way you'll hit skip. She sounds like she knows how to channel her voice and this is truly epic. The song isn't filler as it definitely heightens the tone of the album. It's about a breakup yet sounds incredible.

Pushing Up Daisies, is very charming with a very in the woods in summer on our way to the beach, get some sand on our toes. It has this chill and hype about it, almost gives you an 80s rock band that was popular yet, almost Tears For Fears esque, Perrie steps up to a ladylike delivery that's such a proud woman moment.
As she sings about living her best life without any restrictions and negative opinions. The bridge is a passionate poetry.

Put You First reminds me of Selena Gomez's 2018 hit Back to You with how it starts or a song by Avicii but it takes a form of its own on the chorus, as if Perrie sings a lullaby, it's so sweet and a tear jerker, one full of comfort and moments of cherish. The beat is so ambient, gives you a floating and found in your arms kind of groove. It's about her son Axel features his vocals towards the end.

Where You Are, Perrie has found her big ballad moment with this moment, it gives goosebumps and like a staple record for the meant to be, it's such a walk to your lover with each step of exciting like rushing up the stairs as the song bangs with a flare for the dramatics like Perrie's heart roaring for Alex. Such a wedding friendly and would fit a country love story. Perrie sounds so powerful in love, no sign of fear but just her loving it and living it. Ooh! I'm speechless, it ends with me wanting more.

I met a guy that my dad approves of
That sunset kind of love that I used to dream of....

Sand Dancer is definitely going to get you dancing, it sounds like late night by the bar or a sleepover between lovers that leads to pillow fights and cuddles that warm the heart. It's giving Girls Aloud vibes as in Biology. Sand Dancer has a burst of beautiful energy, so explosive and your feet will sure ignite a fire to move you in love.

Overall Perrie gives you a proper introduction to her solo identity as an artist, she's having fun, loud, proud and pretty happily in love. Her songs have personality and passion, this album isn't throwaway pops or generic get on the radio attempts at making hits but a well crafted album with direction and has an unforgettable pleasurable burn worth a play again and again. We award it a 8.5/10.
