We sat down with a young man who holds many titles, Actor, Entrepreneur. Musician and so on, we could go on and on. He shared some of his challenges, motivation and tea over coffee.

Mcking: So who is Morgan and what does he do?

Morgan: Morgan is nothing but a young entrepreneur, musician, actor, and brand owner of a local clothing brand called Amigo Jeans.

[I] Started the clothing brand in 2017 but established it in 2018.

In terms of music entertainment, I was inspired by the likes of Cassper Nyovest, K.O, Notsi, 50 Cent just to mention a few. After then, I've decided to start writing and recording my own music,  [it all started] in 2015.

Mcking: And how do you juggle and balance all these different roles?

Morgan: I do music part time and sell Amigo Jeans merchandise for a living.

Mcking: And how did  Amigo Jeans start? What's the story behind the name?

Morgan: I grew up loving fashion, and  [I'm] business minded.

So as somebody who loves fashion, I saw a huge opportunity of turning what I love into business.

My biological father's name is "Amigo".

He was and still is a soldier. So he was given the name for some reasons and I felt in love with it, since a lot of people would call me by his name sometimes.

So as time went by, I did the research on the name, to find out what it means. After that, I decided to start an empire for my future kids to inherent. Using my dad's nickname. As a result or means of honouring him while he's still alive.

So the "Jeans" from the "Amigo Jeans" comes from Relay Jeans (a famous brand). I decided to put it together, so that it can sound like a clothing brand, not as someone's name

Mcking: I see. That's empowering. And what have you learned so far on your journey with fashion?

Morgan: That for a clothing brand to sell more or become successful, you have to be more creative and strategic.....And that you have to check what's trending the most and use that to your advantage

Mcking: Yep. Definitely true.
Keeping up with trends is essential.

Any challenges you've come across and what did they teach you about yourself or reveal?

Morgan: What I've came across so far as part and parcel of challenges is that:

People want free merchandise, free performances, superior quality merchandise at a low cost.

And that has made me realise that genuine support doesn't come from familiar faces.

Mcking: Yes that's true
And sometimes you have to protect your business from anything that threatens to sink it.

Most brands I've spoken to; their fashion carries motivation does Amigo Jeans have that? Correct me if I'm wrong the Amigo does give me friendship vibes, togetherness and all ..

Morgan: Most definitely.

You're definitely true.

Amigo Jeans is all about, friendship vibes, togetherness and black excellence.

Mcking: I'm glad to know that.

And can we expect a winter collection or something new? Is there a current collection?

Morgan: Now we have hoodies, and track pants for this winter.

Mcking: And what makes Amigo Jeans stand out?

Morgan: Amigo Jeans is the only local brand with international style. Amigo Jeans is a clothing and media company, we're not focused on clothing only. We also have media services. Another add in we are all about QUALITY not QUANTITY.

Mcking: Awesome and can we expect new music from you?

Morgan: Just released my first EP in April on my birthday. I'll be working on singles from now on, I have a lot of features.

Mcking: That's amazing

Morgan : The dope Candidate, Aky SA and Jacqueline Troy.

MCK!NG: Cannot wait to hear what you cooked up with them in the studio and how would you describe your sound as an artist?

Morgan: Energetic, touching and/or emotional.

I do Trap music, Hiphop, Piano and House when I'm featured.

Mcking: What's your dream national and international collaboration?

Morgan: Nationally I'd love to with....Amanda Black, Cassper Nyovest and King Monada.

International..... I'd love to work with J Cole, Drake and Cardi B.

Mcking: Why these artists?

Morgan: I love their sound and they inspire me big time and lastly but not the least. I think we can compose good songs, together.

Mcking: True.
And what can you say to anyone inspired by what you do?

Morgan: I'd advice them to believe in themselves, and to use what they have to get what they lack.

Mcking: That is indeed inspiring.
Who are the people you look up to?

Morgan: I look up to THEO BALOYI (Bathu co-founder) ; DJ Sbu; Vincent Mgiba and Cassper Nyovest.

Mcking: Those are great people to look up, they've accomplished so much and inspired many. Now for a quick game
