Avenue Music: Perrie - Tears Review




Firstly Her debut single was a summer refresher, though it wasn't showcasing her flashy vocals but a more laidback surging feel, Perrie is definitely setting the tone for her solo run as we await her upcoming debut studio album after 10 successful years of Little Mix. 

Best known for Her powerful voice, Perrie is definitely one of the best vocalists of this generation as proven in live performances as she switches up her high notes leaving fans and critics in complete awe. Tears is the second single from the yet to be revealed album, it's a disco, retro style type of song that is a solid offering. While most say she's playing it safe, she's not coming the way we expect her to be packaged in terms of delivery but Tears is attention grabbing, it has a memorable tone to it, her voice fits right in and she flows beautifully into this elegant and glamorous record as she sings "I don't even care anymore" on the chorus over a groovy beat. 

She's definitely setting a mark and after her well received Summertime Ball performance a few weeks ago, she proved that she not only has the voice but the stage presence as a solo artist, having to also belt Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody, a timeless record which she shined and made her own. Perrie's future is exciting and it has only just begun for this Mom of 1 who is on a roll of reinvention and reintroduction into the music scene, so far we like it.
