Entertainment Avenue: Descendants 4 The Rise Of Red Review!!
Entertainment Avenue: Descendants 4 - The Rise Of Red!
This Week we review the fourth film of the Descendants film franchise and which serves as a spinoff focusing on Red who is on the Rise as she wants to tell her own story not be ruled by the Ruthless Queen of Hearts who happens to be Her Mother, will she break free from Wonderland & face her own reality? The adventure begins!
Starring Kylie Cantrall.Malia Baker Dara ReneƩ. Ruby Rose Turner. Morgan Dudley. Melanie Paxson. Joshua Colley. Julee Cerda. Leonardo Nam. Paolo Montalban. Jeremy Swift. China Anne McClain. Rita Ora & Brandy Norwood.
This Disney musical adventure film is not only action packed but carries some insightful and inspirational dialogue that doesn't come across as too speechy and aggressive but in a more subtle way that empowers the characters heightening the development & a proper impact to further the story.
The fourth film features focus on different Villainous Kids (excluding Chloe) not the usual gang consisting of Mal, Evie, Carlos, Jay & Ben.
Cameron Boyce was also given a moment in one of the scenes as His passing in 2019 July 6th was truly devastating to the cast, crew & fans around the world, he's gone but definitely not forgotten. We have a new line up led by Red (Kylie Cantrall) & Chloe Charming (Malia Baker) who have to put their differences aside and work together to stop Bridget's heartbreaking revenge plan. The story was very engaging with some solid songs here and there (we hope the music will have an improvement in the next installment because not every song amplified the scenes) the pacing was good, it wasn't a rushed build up, until that abrupt ending that made us wonder - well that was quick! But thanks to Uma's closing narration, it looks like this is only just the beginning, their actions have altered the timeline and consequences are on the way, who knows what they've triggered?
We give the film 3/5 stars. It set the tone for what to expect from the franchise and we're excited to see how Red & Chloe will grow, overcome & shine as they pave their own paths, there's so much story to tell, we also love that their friendship wasn't rushed, it was given time to come together full circle as they got to properly understand each other's views and respect, appreciate the other. Chloe isn't another Cinderella. Red also isn't the princess of hearts (she wants to be her own person, not take from her mother) it's time for the Rebel & The Reason to step into the spotlight. Hoping the sequel is released soon. Descendants 4 is currently streaming on Disney Plus do check it out.
