They've had us pushing the button, we missed them like a hole in the head, they're cooler than a red dress and their comeback has us excited since the independent and well received certified fresh album - The Lost Tapes which has stunning cuts such as Victory. I Lay Down. I'm Alright. Metal Heart & Flatline.
Jungle is definitely a club banger, it's reminiscent of their earlier work from their album Three, Hole in The Head to be exact. The song is feel good, glamorous get to dancing, it's completely different from When the Rain Comes, it's more urban, underground almost gothic in terms of dress code yet professionally playful, catchy and pop tastic. It has a boasting, bold and defined beat that is like a drink offered by the barman, a cocktail called Jungle, it's a daring daiquiri.
It seems to be a new and interesting era for the Sugababes sonically, this single is more fun and vibrant, Keisha's usual ad-libs are minimal, which are usually a signature style, Mutya gives a claws out and clean prechorus that is very engaging. What worries me is that it sounds like a UK song, hopefully listeners around the world still connect to it, these women deserve the global success.
The second verse is a highlight Siobhan is talk-singing it's giving fashion on vocals, accessorizing with harmonies so in tune this season, Keisha gives us fauna fabulous on the chorus. It'll be interesting to hear what the remixes will sound like.
We give it a 5/5.
It's available on all streaming platforms. Do check it Out!
