Entertainment Avenue: Matlock & Elsbeth are Top 2 Television to Watch For!

We have a Double feature this week on entertainment Avenue as we chat CBS the hits! Shows like Matlock & Elsbeth both bring in some refreshing takes on crime and legal dramas. Led by two bold women who are underestimated and seen as just the eccentric lady and the grandma.


Kathy Bates & Carrie Preston bring in good TV on their respective shows as the leads.

Matlock is all about Madelyn Matlock who is out to uncover the truth and bring to justice the law firm that was responsible for her daughter's death. Goes unnoticed, a tight alibi or so we thought. Plays the sweet and well meaning lady till she her expertise and knack come into play, giving you an impression not to underestimate her. Renewed for Season 2 set to premiere this fall on CBS (October 12 2025). Starring Kathy Bates. Leah Lewis. David Del Rio. Skye P. Marshall and Jason Ritter.

Matlock gives you a vibrant office setting, a very gorgeous set, the grading is brilliant. Olympia has some really neat suits and you'll be taken on a really interesting journey of discovery, betrayal, humour, turmoil and tantrums. Loyalty breaks when compromise steals everything away from you. Forget your reputation, or protecting your client, casualties can never be sidelined. We give it a solid 8.5/10 it gives you a variety of genres and brews your tea to a pot of problems only this legal team can solve.  Official Trailer

Elsbeth is more pink, plenty of bags, eccentric and very inquisitive, forget class in session, be nosy on the scene of the crime and give the best detectives a run for their money. No one sees her breaking down the evidence. It isn't just your average hunch, she's dealt with criminals and would know how to connect motive to execution. After breaking the seeds of doubt, Captain Wagner realises how effective she is and it's a howcatchem take though at times there are exceptions. Elsbeth is very warm, stakes do get high, tension definitely rises and we see her lose the silly lady persona and go full on boss mode. She's just a flower that seems easy to bully till you realize Gotham's Pamela Isley would be impressed. We are given a more lighthearted leading lady who doesn't need to be tough and cold to be a bada$$. Renewed for a 3rd season set for October 12 2025.
