Entertainment Avenue: DSTV MVCA's Big Return!!! 



After a 2 year absence, the Mzansi Viewer's Choice Awards returned with a bang and kicked off with a blue carpet hosted by Hope Mbele, Smash Afrika & Pamela Mtanga interviewing guests about their looks and the show itself plus their accomplishments like Esona who recently collaborated with Drake on the chart topping Honestly, Never Mind. 

The official ceremony was hosted by Tv Host & Actor Lawrence Maleka who served vibrance, elegance and massive energy on stage with stunning outfits that at times gave us Blade Trinity meets the Matrix, Ninja Gear meets Dapper Suits. The were hosts for each category and the first award of the night went to Skhumba Hlophe for Favorite Comedian.

Favourite Radio Personality: Selbeyonce Mkhize 

Favourite Actor: Abdul Khoza

Favourite Actress: Sannah Mchunu 

Favourite Personality: Connie Ferguson

The DStv Legend Award: John Kani

Ultimate Viewer's Choice: Lawrence Maleka

Shimza noted on his acceptance speech that he cancelled his international shows to attend the event and expressed gratitude. Connie Ferguson dedicated her award to her late loving husband Shona Ferguson and looked as elegant as ever. Sannah Mchunu was overwhelmed by the win as she got into character and teased the crowd while being embraced by her costars and production team. Kwenzo Ngcobo & Abdul Khoza showed major camaraderie to each other. Rassie Erasmus wasn't at the live event but there was video package played on the big screen for his acceptance speech. Legendary Writer & Actor: John Kani also couldn't make it but there was a video package of him serving Nothing But The Truth nostalgia as he got into character on a moving monologue which received applause and massive cheers. Lawrence walked away with two awards and they're well deserved, congratulations to everyone and what a show!! Amazing performances from Africa's biggest stars like Sun-EL Musician, Sjava, Boohle, Tuks Senganga & more. Mpho Wa Badimo also left a huge impression with her presenting skills. 

We didn't just see the established stars win big, No!! viewers and those making a difference won big. A young inspiring change and doing amazing work in his community walked away with an Award (Amandla Vikwane) . Now that's something we love to see. Congratulations & Celebrations.
