Entertainment Avenue: The Lincoln Lawyer Review & Season 3 Renewal!

Entertainment Avenue - The Weekend Watch: The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix

Netflix.

Premiered in May 2022 starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
This Legal drama produced by David E. Kelly, based on The Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly is definitely worth the watch. It doesn't really have a dark setting it's more balanced accompanied by charm, lighter tones and the nostalgic tv series feel with a strong and screen present cast that feels refreshing and so fun to watch.

Each episode gives you a good dose of drama and the progression while at times slows down, you can't help but enjoy the pace. The only thing is when I watched Season 1, episode 1 a lot of events happened that I checked the running time and saw I was 20+ minutes in, it felt like I watched 3 episodes already. It was a lot to take in but from episode 2 it was smooth sailing. We give the first Season 4/5 stars.

There's some really good acting, casting choices. I mean Cisco is one of my favourite characters and he's also eye candy. Lorna is another favourite character she gives nostalgia vibes. Love her.

Starring: Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. Neve Campbell. Becki Newton. Jazz Raycole. Angus Sampson. Ntare Gumba Mbaho Mwine. Yaya DaCosta.

Season 2 premiered July 6th on Netflix and as we all know Mickey always learns a little too late about his clients, first Trevor Elliott (Christopher Gorham) turned out to have committed the crime then Lisa Trammell (Lana Parrilla) was innocent but guilty of another crime, murdering her husband. The stakes were even higher this time around, he got too personal; emotionally involved that Lorna voiced out her concerns that Mickey may regret his decisions, with classic twists taking place in court, strong motions and evidence play, approaching the bench, unpredictable leverage, witness discrediting and some rivalry introduced in the form of Andrea Freeman (Yaya DaCosta) aka Andy a Criminal Prosecutor who is Maggie's best friend and Mickey's opponent in court, she has beat him countless times but this time around she takes the L not for Lawyer or Legal but Loss. It's a fun season and Cisco's storyline also gives him more to work with while on the sidelines. Yaya DaCosta shines as Andy, no lie hated her at first but from episode 8/9 I was impressed. She may be ruthless in court but she gave Mickey a good challenge that had him dig deeper and bring out some of his brilliance on display. Looks like it isn't over.

Netflix

Netflix announced via their Tudum website that the show is renewed for a third season which will consist of 10 episodes. Neve Campbell is reportedly not returning but the door is open for future seasons as her character isn't part of the fifth book which will the third season will be based about; gods of guilt by Michael Connelly.  Becki Newton, Angus Sampson. Jazz Raycole and Yaya DaCosta are returning.
“The audience response to the show has been so gratifying and wonderful, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to dive back into Michael Connelly’s universe and bring Mickey Haller and his world to the screen again,” showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez - Via Tudum.

The Lincoln Lawyer is a must watch, gripping intense drama with a great sense of humour holding on to charm plus a good connect of characters who have a good flow of chemistry. It works so well, a winning recipe. Currently streaming on Netflix.
