Entertainment Avenue: Will Trent Serves A Deep Dive of Daring Drama!

Entertainment Avenue: Will Trent - From Cold to Spring

A strange headline right? Well this character during the first season feels closed off, cold and reserved even towards the viewers it's like you're trying to root for him but he's out on the field sees you in your cheerleader outfit and takes away your pompoms dismissing your kind efforts, prefers to be a loner, way too good at his job he comes across as arrogant or over confident.

Yes his childhood is highly emphasized throughout building up to how he became Will Trent under Amanda Wagner's guidance. His complicated relationship with Angie that rock your world can turn into an earthquake shaking them apart most of the time. He's a well written character and Ramón Rodriguez also brings some amazing acting on board as body language is also a great sell.

Faith Mitchell (Iantha Richardson) who I knew I was gonna love the minute she appeared on episode 1 of Season 1. She doesn't let Will walk all over her thank you to the writers for not making her a typical sidekick instead she becomes Will's partner and their relationship is very fun as they come to care for each other in a unique way. Saving each other from bullets, hostage situations and the works.

Amanda Wagner (Sonja Sohn) gives mother vibes and she's good with her sassy delivery, Sunday roast anyone? You'd swear Will and co are kindergarteners and she's fed up on some "I don't get paid enough for this!" Yet she truly loves her niece and son. The stories are very engaging and interesting, murder mysteries that really have high stakes, at times you're left scared for the detectives/special agents because they don't get an easy arrest.

Angie (Ericka Christensen)& Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) are another pair that work well together but during the first season their storylines were not fully fleshed out, they'd have a case but we'd get parts of it, leaving a lot to be desired but things soon changed they started working alongside Will & Faith which meant more screentime and we got to see them in action which was so much fun.

The pacing in Season 2 changes with an almost different feel, Will is opening up and getting used to people caring about him, there's no moving from one family to another there's no abusive settings, he goes from cold to spring, growing fond of the people in his life and oh Betty is such a sweetheart, star of the show (sorry Will) Nico (Cora Lu Tran) is also a character that deserves more time, he is able to deal with Will who can difficult at times.

The 3rd Season is currently airing on ABC and Hulu with Gina Rodriguez as a new series regular. Season 1 and 2 are available on Hulu.

So far we give it a 9/10.
It has a nice balance of dark yet is fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.
