Faith Avenue: Evangelist Gift Unpacks on God's Impact & the Life of a man called to serve!

Gifted by the Lord and led by Him in righteousness, Evangelist Gift is a young Minister who definitely is fluent in the living word of God. We get to know how it all began and the beautiful story of adoption to Sonship is evident. Here's what went down as addressed a few misconceptions and how to remain in the Faith we so boldly profess.

Welcome to Mzansi Avenue

Thank You for Joining Us

How are You?

Evangelist Gift: I'm doing good thanks how are you?

Aaron: I'm well thanks. Who is Prophet Evidence and what does he do?

Evangelist Gift: I'm Evangelist Gift Evidence, a preacher of the gospel of Christ, dedicated to guiding His people in their walk with the Lord, and I also work as a businessman by profession.

Aaron: How did it all start? Ministry and answering God's call?

Evangelist Gift: It all started back in 2017 when I was still in school. A prophet gave me a prophecy, saying that the Lord wanted to use me to do His work. I felt a bit happy because, ever since I was a child, I had enjoyed church activities. However, I quickly realized that it wasn’t easy to start doing things on my own without knowledge about ministry or the things of the Spirit. So, I humbled myself and sought mentorship from him.

What I didn’t know at the time was how challenging answering God’s call could be. It came with many trials, including losing friends along the way. As I grew in Christ, I wasn’t the same person they once knew, and I stopped doing some of the things I used to do. This caused me to lose many people I had known for a long time.

It took a lot of conviction to stay on this path and continue in ministry because it felt like starting a new life while already grown. Some of my family members even disliked me due to cultural beliefs, which made it even harder to answer God’s call on my life.

But through it all, I held onto the belief that God’s burdens are light. With His strength, I was able to overcome every challenge that came my way.

Aaron: Amen and you persevered which is truly remarkable. What have you learned about yourself and what impact has God had on a personal level?

Evangelist Gift: I’ve learned that I am stronger and more resilient than I thought, especially when I trust God through challenges. I’ve also discovered my purpose and the gifts God has placed within me. On a personal level, God has transformed my perspective on life. He has taught me to value humility, patience, and love for others. His presence has given me peace in difficult times, hope when things seemed impossible, and the courage to pursue what He’s called me to do. Overall, my relationship with Him has made me a better person and continues to guide me every day.

Aaron: God is definitely Good. Your favourite scripture and why?

Evangelist Gift: I love Acts 10:38 and John 1:46 because of the reflection on how God chose to work through Jesus, who came from the humble and often overlooked town of Nazareth, to fulfill His powerful mission.

Acts 10:38 highlights the anointing and ministry of Jesus: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” John 1:46, where Nathanael says, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” reflects the lowly and underestimated reputation of Nazareth. People did not expect anything significant to come from such an unimportant place.I love these verses because they lies in the contrast between human expectation and God’s plan. While people, like Nathanael, dismissed Nazareth as insignificant, God chose it as the place where Jesus would grow up. This demonstrates that God’s power is not limited by human perceptions of status or importance.

Acts 10:38 reinforces this by showing how Jesus of Nazareth despite coming from a place of little renown was anointed with the Holy Spirit and performed extraordinary works. Together, these verses teach that God often uses the humble and unexpected to reveal His glory and accomplish His purposes.

Aaron: The wonders and wisdom of God indeed. Who are your biblical influences?

Evangelist Gift: Elisha is my biblical influence because his life demonstrates the qualities I strive to embody. His patience and preparation under Elijah's mentorship remind me of the importance of waiting on God's timing and being diligent in learning before stepping into greater responsibilities. His humility in serving others, whether through meeting their needs or performing miracles, shows that true ministry is rooted in compassion and service. Lastly, his boldness and faith in trusting God to perform extraordinary miracles inspire me to walk confidently in my calling, knowing that God’s power is always at work. Elisha's example encourages me to remain faithful, humble, and courageous as I serve under a prophet.

Aaron: Truly amazed, so true and your walk with God is evident. What are some of the misconceptions about being a Christian and how do we go about correcting them?

Evangelist Gift: There are a lot of misconceptions in Christianity but we'll talk about a few of them:

1. There is a belief that Christians should never doubt or struggle with their faith.

Doubt and struggle are part of the human experience. The Bible is filled with stories of people questioning and struggling with their faith, such as Thomas (John 20:24-29) and David in the Psalms. Faith is about perseverance through those doubts, not the absence of them.

2. Some view Christianity as just attending church services

While communal worship is important, being a Christian is about developing a personal relationship with God, living our faith in everyday life, and loving others (Matthew 22:37-39). Christianity is not just a Sunday activity, but a lifestyle of following Christ’s teachings.

3. People sometimes think that being a Christian means always being happy or positive.

Joy and peace are fruits of the Spirit, but that doesn't mean Christians don’t experience hardship or sadness (Philippians 4:11-13). Christianity teaches that even in suffering, Christians can have hope in God’s presence and purpose (Romans 8:28).

Aaron: Very well said, so true and spot on. Your Top 5 songs you're listening to right now?

Evangelist Gift: 1. Yeshua by Jesus image church

2. In the presence of angels by Roy field

3. Do it for me by PC lapez

4. Omemema by frank Edward

5. Higher higher it's also my favorite I just head from apostle Joshua selman and I love it.

Aaron: I'll definitely give them a listen. What are you most passionate about?

Evangelist Gift: As an Evangelist, my primary passion is spreading the message of the Gospel and sharing the love and truth of Jesus Christ. For me, this involves several key areas of which I focus on:

1. Passion for Christ:

My love for Christ and my personal relationship with Him are at the core of everything I do. This love fuels my message and serves as an example for others.

2. Passion for the Lost:

I have a deep burden for those who do not yet know Christ. This compassion drives me to reach people with the life-changing message of salvation.

3. Passion for Truth:

Proclaiming the Gospel accurately and faithfully is vital to me. This means knowing Scripture well and sharing it in a way that is both understandable and transformative.

4. Passion for Obedience to God's Calling:

I am committed to being obedient to God’s call on my life as an Evangelist. This demonstrates faithfulness and inspires others to do the same.

5. Passion for Discipleship:

For me, evangelism is not just about leading people to Christ but also helping them grow in their faith. I am passionate about mentoring and discipling others to strengthen the church and fulfill the Great Commission.

6. Passion for Prayer:

I rely on God’s power for everything. My strong prayer life reflects my dependence on Him to guide me, empower my ministry, and transform the hearts of those I reach.

Aaron: Truly inspiring and so impressive to see a true desire to serve. What are people yet to know about you?

Evangelist Gift: For that in ministry wise I can say I also don't know because there is a saying which goes like "a man who has grown has already shown you his limits but for the one coming you don't know how far or big they can become" but all in all I believe there is a way that God will use me to show the world how powerful he can be.

Aaron: Amen to that, beautifully said with such wisdom. 5 things you can't go a day without?

Evangelist Gift: I do a lot of stuff daily but I'll give specific things I can't go a day without doing

1. Prayer every time I wake first thing I pray to prepare my day

2. Reading my bible I always take time to study my bible before anything else

3. Music I love playing music too loud and I do that daily

4. Checking up on people who need to hear God's word whether through prophecy or bible teaching.

5. I always make sure to learn something new by watching other men's of God and theological teachings.

Aaron: A neat and good routine that's lit. As a believer what are some of the things that help one stay grounded in God's word?

Evangelist Gift: As a believer, staying grounded in God’s Word is essential for spiritual growth and stability. Here are some key practices that helps one to stay grounded in God -

1. Daily Bible Reading:

Regularly reading and meditating on Scripture strengthens your understanding of God’s truth and helps you apply it to your life.

2. Prayer:

Communicating with God deepens your relationship with Him and aligns your heart with His Word. Pray for wisdom, understanding, and strength to live according to His will.

3. Bible Study:

Going deeper into the Word through structured study—individually or in groups—helps you grasp its meaning and relevance.

4. Obedience to the Word:

Living out what you read in Scripture solidifies its impact in your life. Obedience allows the Word to shape your character and decisions

 5.Fellowship with Other Believers:

Surrounding yourself with a community of believers who encourage and hold you accountable keeps you focused on God’s truth.

6. Listening to Biblical Teaching:

Hearing sound teaching from pastors, teachers, or other reliable sources reinforces your understanding and challenges you to grow.

7. Journaling:

Writing down insights, prayers, or lessons learned from Scripture helps you reflect on and internalize what God is teaching you.

8. Worship:

Worshiping God in song and lifestyle keeps your heart centered on His greatness and His Word.

And I believe staying grounded requires intentionality and consistency. As you prioritize these practices, your faith and understanding will deepen, keeping you firmly rooted in God’s Word.

Aaron: You are definitely one who seeks the Lord and whom the Lord has filled with His ways. What's the most fun you've had in your walk of faith?

Evangelist Gift: The most fun I’ve had in my walk of faith was participating in a soccer tournament organized by different community churches. It was amazing to see believers from various churches come together to play, laugh, and fellowship on and off the field.

Soccer has always been a passion of mine, so getting to combine it with my faith made the experience even more meaningful. Before the games, we prayed together, asking God to help us play with integrity and teamwork. The matches were full of energy and excitement.

Even though we were competing, the focus wasn’t on winning it was on building relationships and glorifying God through sports. By the end of the day, we had shared laughs, encouraging conversations, and moments of worship.

Aaron: Uniting and coming together as believers engaged in God and having a blast is epic! Any challenges that you reflect on and find yourself amazed by the grace and power of God? Please enlighten us on that.

Evangelist Gift: One challenge I often reflect on was a time when I was still in school when I passed my secondary school exams and I was supposed to start my senior secondary that's when I lost my father and there was no one to sponsor my school I tried asking some family elders but nobody was willing to help, this uncertainty left me anxious and questioning what God’s plan was for me.

I remember pouring my heart out to God in prayer and clinging to Scriptures like Proverbs 3:5-6, which reminds us to trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding. Over time, God began opening doors I never expected, leading me into opportunities that were better than I could have imagined people from outside my family started helping me with my academics.

Looking back, I’m amazed by how God’s grace carried me through that season. He not only provided clarity but also strengthened my trust in Him. It taught me that even when I can’t see the way forward, God is faithful and His plans are always for my good.

Aaron: God's faithfulness is definitely unmatched. On an incomparable level. The best way to understand scripture starts when?

Evangelist Gift: The best way to understand Scripture starts when you approach it with the right heart and mindset. Here's how to begin when you want to start understanding the word of God.

1. With a Desire to Know God:

Understanding Scripture starts with a genuine hunger to know God more deeply. When you read the Bible not just for information but to grow in your relationship with Him, His Word becomes alive.

2. With Prayer:

Before you read, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide and give you understanding. Scripture itself teaches that spiritual truths are discerned through the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14).

3. With an Open Heart:

Approach the Word with humility and a willingness to learn and be transformed. Be open to conviction and correction, letting God shape your thoughts and actions.

4. With Consistency:

Understanding Scripture requires regular reading and meditation. The more you immerse yourself in the Word, the clearer its message becomes.

5. With Obedience:

True understanding comes when you put Scripture into practice. Jesus said, “If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching” (John 7:17).

Aaron: Definitely are inspiring and that's amazing! Where can people find you on social media?

Evangelist Gift: I'm found on almost every social media platform by these names

Aaron: Awesome! How would you best describe the truth?

Evangelist Gift: To me truth can be best described as that which aligns with reality, is unchanging, and is grounded in the character and Word of God. From a biblical perspective, the truth is not subjective or dependent on personal feelings or opinions. It is constant and unchanging, regardless of circumstances.

In summary, the truth is the foundation of God’s character, revealed in Jesus Christ, and communicated through His Word. It is eternal, reliable, and transformative, calling us to live in alignment with it.

Aaron: That's insightful and impactful. What have you learned about God's ways?

Evangelist Gift: I’ve learned that God’s ways are higher than my ways and His thoughts are higher than mine (Isaiah 55:8-9). There have been times in my life when I didn’t understand why certain things happened, but looking back, I can see how God’s plans were always for my good and His glory.

One specific lesson I’ve learned is about God’s faithfulness. When I was going through a difficult season, I often felt like God was silent. But through prayer and reading His Word, I realized He was teaching me patience and trust. Over time, He provided exactly what I needed, even if it wasn’t what I expected.

I’ve also learned that God is always working behind the scenes, even when we don’t see it. Romans 8:28 reminds me that He works all things together for good for those who love Him. This truth has deepened my faith and taught me to trust His ways, even when they’re different from what I would choose.

Aaron: Going through the narrow door, what does that mean to you and how would you share it to help others have a better perspective of the scripture?

Evangelist Gift: Going through the narrow gate refers to Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 7:13-14, where He says, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

To me, this passage speaks of the difficult but rewarding path of following Christ. The "narrow gate" represents the way of salvation that is found in Jesus—marked by self-denial, obedience to God, and a willingness to live counter to the values of the world. It’s not about popularity or ease, but about choosing to follow Christ regardless of the challenges.

Aaron: Deeply true. What are some of the things you've had to unlearn?

Evangelist Gift : I can say there's still a lot I need to learn in ministry for ministry to me is something big as the government, for which I need to know more about it specifically I may say I need to learn more on how to handle a large crowd and how to minister to everyone even if I can't touch them one by one but to minister to them all.

Aaron: We grow as we learn and there's so much to uncover. As there's no compromise in Christianity. How do we move forward with Christ and not go back to our old ways?

Evangelist Gift: Moving forward with Christ and avoiding a return to our old ways requires intentional, daily commitment to living out our faith and growing in our relationship with Him. Here are some steps to help maintain that forward momentum:

1. Embrace Your New Identity in Christ:

When we accept Christ, we are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Recognize that your old self has been crucified with Christ, and you no longer belong to the old ways of sin. Understanding this truth strengthens your resolve to move forward.

2. Renew Your Mind:

Constantly renew your mind through Scripture (Romans 12:2). God’s Word transforms the way we think, giving us new perspectives that align with His will. Meditate on God’s promises and the truth of His Word, letting it shape your thoughts and actions.

3. Stay Rooted in Prayer:

A strong prayer life is essential to staying connected to God. Regularly seeking God’s guidance, confessing struggles, and praising Him for His faithfulness keeps your heart focused on Him.

4. Walk in the Spirit:

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live according to God’s will. Galatians 5:16 encourages us to "walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." By relying on the Spirit’s strength, we are less likely to fall back into old habits.

5. Surround Yourself with a Supportive Community:

Fellowship with other believers is crucial. Being part of a church or small group helps keep you accountable and provides encouragement in moments of weakness. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that "iron sharpens iron," meaning we need one another to grow in faith.

6. Be Intentional About Your Actions and Choices:

Avoid situations that might tempt you to fall back into old patterns. This could involve changing relationships, activities, or environments that are linked to your past life. In Matthew 5:29-30, Jesus talks about removing stumbling blocks, and this applies to avoiding things that may draw you back to old ways.

7. Set Goals and Stay Focused on the Prize:

Stay focused on the eternal rewards and purpose God has for you. Philippians 3:13-14 speaks about forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead—the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Keep your eyes on the prize and press on, knowing that God has greater things in store for you.

By remaining committed to these practices, you’ll find strength to continue moving forward with Christ, not returning to your old ways. It's about living out your new identity, staying close to God, and relying on His grace and power each day.

Aaron: A big Amen to that, thank you for such an amazing interview your knowledge and wisdom in God's Kingdom is truly outstanding and showcases how Good and Great of a Father God is.
