Avenue Music: T Dawg Phara

Avenue Music: T Dawg's Sophomore; Phara (Review)

T Dawg released his second studio album Phara which he teased during the beginning of the year till its release. Doing well on the charts such as Spotify and receiving impressive reception from peers and listeners, it's a promising offering. Will it be a step from his debut which packs a massive punch and if you haven't listened to it. We suggest you do, available on all streaming platforms.

The title track is quite something else, has a hard hitting groovy beat as T Dawg addresses critics and acknowledges him. Ear friendly arrangement while carrying this classic tone to it.

Facts has a jazzy arrangement to it. It's sounds more fun and colourful, with him switching and showing impressive vocal delivery. This is one of the Standout tracks.

Ntwe Boyima is another pleasant surprise, still carrying the dark atmosphere, T Dawg goes on about struggles in life on the trippy beat. Which gives you that dazed effect listening to it.

110 Notes For Me features Shinzo it's more of a stripped song that gives them room to shine into the flow of the record. Declaring they're not regular but are a stand out. Take notice.

Kasi Life Stories features frequent collaborator Praise The Poet. It has a dangerous and deadly sound to it, very thrilling while reminiscent of All Of The Lights by Kanye West with the horns on the beat. T Dawg flows smooth like a silver spoon kid but the frustration makes you see he craves a better life.

The 20 track album has a cohesive sound from start to finish. T Dawg brought a concept that's relatable and has that Kasi feel to it, it has that story of a Phara vibe to the one hundred. It's solid, strong and serves a good time of impressive deliveries and collaborations that stick two things together for the perfect blend. While the tones are more darker, it's understandable. As it's not every album that will have that sparkle and pop song. We score it a 9.8/10
