Album Appreciation: Blackheart by Dawn Richard Dawn Richard is one of the most amazing independent artists out there, always breaking boundaries, first introduced on Making The Band and as part of thee most loved girl group Danity Kane  which made history with their debut and sophomore releases .  An industry creative who touches music to sooth and bring back an energy we thought we lost tone to. All her projects stand out and offer something refreshing. One of our favorite projects is the Heart trilogy. This week we appreciate Blackheart (I listened to this album while I was in High School (17) & now at age 24, I'm like This is Gold)  which is more of the dark chapter which showcases Power. Abandonment, Homecoming , Rising ( Phoenix ), Loss & other strong subjects beautifully written and expressed brilliantly through vocals. Hip Hop Essentials: Now & Forever by Drake  Drake is one of the best artists ever. His writing, progression, flow and expression always come out beautifully. Now & Forever comes from his mixtape If You're Reading This, It's Too Late  which debuted at number one on the Billboard US 200 .  Now & Forever is more intimate, personal and gives you a sense of depature as Drake sings and raps his way into a new beginning, wrapping up the past by acknowledging "  I've been here for too long ,  I'm leaving, I'm leaving, you know I got my reasons"  it's one of those relatable songs with a strong message and massive instrumentation that hits deep. International Song Of The Weekend: Fair By Normani After channeling her Wild Side she's now reflecting and questioning a relationship and her lover on the chill yet hauntingly awake & aware song. It feels like moments where there are drops of alarm in a calm room. It's not your let's get turnt up and jam it's in tune with the heart. It's that wine and cry song. It was also noted that it's one of the best selling R&B songs a few weeks ago on the charts.
