We're back with Artist On Feature and we have Black Dove who's on an Original tone of expression and identity. How his music journey started and his vision as an artist. Here's what went down;

How are you?

Black Dove: I'm good thanks, how are you?

MCK!NG: Who is Black Dove and what does he do?

Black Dove: I would say Black Dove is an artist on a mission to do great things music wise and generally to life itself.Black Dove is a Rapper/Singer/Artist in a bit of art on paper and visualization.

MCK!NG: When did the love for music start?

Black Dove: The love of music goes back a long way back to the primary school era. Well at that time...I was just listening to music and vibing with it. More especially rap music,one of my teachers at the school was and still is a hip hop head. So,I started listening to the music he listened to and within a few moments of time.I would sing along to those old school rap music.

MCK!NG: What was it like recording your first song?

Black Dove: Recoding my first song was just a funny part of my music career, and I think thats the story of every artist.As much as it is hard to explain the feeling,I would say it was kinda suprising and funny.But it was worth it.

MCK!NG: Who are your musical influences?

Black Dove: Musically I would say acouple of American rappers, the likes of J Cole,Phora,Toosii,Drake,Polo G and etc.But with more connection to their music I would say J Cole and Drake are the ones that influence me so much.But then obviously theres Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C from my side of the country.They inspire me so much 'cause I got to see them at their lowest of lows to this day of them being big and international artists. It's a fascinating experience to see people musically. It gives hope and drive of which is what we need.

MCK!NG: What's the one thing that stands out about you?

Black Dove: The one thing that I think stand outs as people see me, I think it's my personality. What you see is what you hear. I'm not embarrassed to share my stories and (to hear) other people's stories.And my voice is jus a cherry on the cake. The way I approach a beat I think is way different than most artists do.

MCK!NG: Seeing there's the sound that sells, would you ever go for it once you go mainstream? If yes why? If no, why?

Black Dove: Well...I got to think about this one for a long time.I wanted to do it but, that would be like chasing clout and all that and I really want make it out with my own sound.But if an opportunity that will help me get an audience shows itself.I would take it.

MCK!NG: How would you best describe your music?

Black Dove: Well I would say my music is very interesting if u listen mostly to what I'm saying in my music; the lyrics are the most important part of the piece of work. Mostly it's emotional songs and some that are an absolute vibe.

MCK!NG: Your dream collaborations?

Black Dove: Dream collaboration I would say Nasty C and Cassper Nyovest.

MCK!NG: Who is that one friend that you play your songs to before releasing them?

Black Dove: Uhm...I don't usually do that but when I do, the first person to approve of; is my brother followed by T Dawg and Fimi...Then myself.

MCK!NG: What's the one thing you've learned about this musical journey that blew your mind or gave you an epiphany?

Black Dove: Well...everything about the musical journey is a lesson to be learnt. Starting from having the right connections. You can have talent but zero contacts.That is the hardest part,having no one (who) really wants to help you. And one thing I learned is that there's always those people who hate because that's what they're good at. So as an artist I had to learn to say to myself ''Don't worry bout' them, it's normal not everyone will like or support my movement''

MCK!NG: For real. What do you want to accomplish with your music?

Black Dove: Musically I just want a huge audience...I want people to be able to play my music and be like,this guy is good and is a bold person.

Black Dove is currently working on new music and might rerelease projects from his freshman days. Keep a close eye on his socials. He's on a mission to express himself as organic as he is and for others to relate in the melody and wording. Now that's awesome.
