DIVINE CONNECTION DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY OLADELE T•E
THEME: THE GOOD GIFT!
TEXT: [NIV] 1 SAMUEL 2:21
And the LORD was gracious to Hannah; she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the LORD.

[NIV] James 1:17 says; Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. The result that a fervent prayer life produces is always the manifestation of what is good and what is perfect. God will never release what is bad and imperfect to anyone who ask Him for a thing because everything He establishes in the lives of men are always good and perfect. God is a good God and everything that comes from Him are always good and perfect. There's nothing God has ever released to a man that ruined the life and the destiny of that man except the man mismanaged what has been given to him by God. Everything God has given to you so far is good and perfect, it is now left to you to utilize them well for profitable kingdom use, to your own advantage and to the advantage of others.

According to the focal scripture for today's devotional message, the Bible postulates how God was gracious to Hannah so much that she had more children but the interesting part of the verse is that the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of God. Samuel was a gift given to Hannah by God and he was a good and perfect gift because he didn't grew up to become a delinquent child but rather grew up before the Lord and was well nurtured in the way of the Lord. Samuel turned out to be a good gift from God to Hannah in life. Everyone who saw Samuel growing before the Lord also desired that their children grow before the Lord. Samuel was also a perfect gift. It was never recorded that Samuel grew only to cause sorrow and pain to her mother or to other people. As Samuel was growing up, he was pleasing God and was living a well pleasing life that others could emulate because he lived in obedience to God all through his life.

You can expect the same kind of gift that Hannah received from God when you trust Him for one. Hannah asked God for Samuel and when the child came, it wasn't a bad child but a good child. Samuel grew up before the Lord until he gained favour with the Lord and with men. Hannah never regretted asking the Lord for Samuel because each time she got to see Samuel, her heart was always filled with joy because of the kind of child he turned out to be. Samuel was also a useful child. Samuel was raised to be used by God and indeed God used him mightily during his time. Whatever God has released to you or will release to you is to be useful for the advancement of His kingdom. God gave Samuel to Hannah and she released the child to be used for profitable kingdom use. God is about to release a good and perfect gift to you as a result of your wholehearted trust in Him and when He releases it, utilize it well for profitable kingdom use and you won't incur any loss, pain or sorrow to yourself.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for Your Word. Now that I know that every gift that is from You is nothing short of a good and perfect gift. Please Lord, release to me all that I have been trusting You for so that I can also have the good and perfect gifts that will make me forget the pains and the sorrows that I have experienced in Jesus Christ name.
