Avenue Music: The Catch Up With Jay Cracker
Avenue Music: The Catch Up With Jay Cracker
It's been awhile since we last spoke to Jay Cracker as he covered the October Issue of Mzansi Avenue, now he's back with us to give us the low down on his thriving new chapter in his life in the entertainment industry. Expansion at its best.
Jay Cracker welcome back to Mzansi Avenue
How have you been?
McKing: You celebrated your birthday this past week, what does this new era mean for you? And congratulations by the way.
Jay Cracker: I've been great and amazing. This new adveture means alot and it's a new beginning as well for life. I have been busy with being the Master of Ceremonies(MC),
McKing: That's awesome,So what else have you been up to?
Jay Cracker: Promoting and working towards improving my brand to get better and better always.
McKing: Nice! What are you learning about yourself as you're exposed to new opportunities and growing your brand?
Jay Cracker: What I've learned about myself is; I'm a very courageous and inspiring person towards (the) youth not to forget being talented and a hard worker, and through these opportunities coming my way I saw it's possible to grow big but it's in my hands to take charge.
McKing: True, the classic saying you can be motivated but you have to take the step towards the motivation not just hold on to feeling with no outcome. What has been the highlight?
Jay Cracker: Me being on big stages and doing what I'm good at is the most special thing for me, especially when the audience shouts out my name, it means a lot, those are memories I keep to keep me moving. Sharing stages and rubbing shoulders with national artists and building a relationship with them towards business it's a great thing and opportunity for me to always remember.
McKing: Indeed, you're definitely on a roll, kudos to you mate. What can we expect? You've been taking a breather with the music, so is there a project outside of music people can look forward to?
Jay Cracker: Right now I'm working on my clothing brand, you might expect a song with me and DJ Karri possibly, also Kelvin Momo which is what me and their managers are working on as well and making/finalizing deal bookings with the likes of DJ Visca, Amu Classic & Kappie and Leemckrazy. So far I'm not working on any project.
McKing: Cannot wait to hear the record you're featured on. A big shout out to the artists you mentioned. You've proven to be one of the best in the business, what's your daily motivation?
Jay Cracker: My daily motivation is the support I get from people which I don't even know and some from different areas of this world. But mostly I get different motivations everyday to stay on track for my creativity.
McKing: Nothing like good company and influences around you to keep you going. That's amazing! What piece of good advice do you have for anyone out there?
Jay Cracker: Lock in your dreams and invest in yourself, Nobody is coming to save you, you need to get ouf of that comfort zone & Feel the struggle that's how hustlers win.
McKing: Well said. List 5 things you can't go a day without?
Jay Cracker: 5 things I can't go a day without?
1. It's Praying,
2. Creating new ideas
3. Promotions (Brands)
4. Exercising
5. And hustling for bookings.
McKing: Staying fit, a good prayer and pursuing your dreams, that's amazeballs. Are you off the market and working on that family life?
Jay Cracker: I'm on the market and my family is great. It's a need for me to be on the market to manage that family life.
McKing: Do you think you'll ever create a song that will top homeless? Because that one is peak...
Jay Cracker: I Believe so and i do have exclusives which are not out yet better than homeless. All it's the best it won't be an easy one.
