Artist On Feature: Gift Of Africa 

This week we have Gift Of Africa who shares his story with us, having accomplished so much on a global scale, this star not only serves good music but stunning visuals too. This is His Story:

Born Gift Russell Selomi in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, Gift of Africa is a versatile DJ, Record Producer and a Remixer. The Love for music started at an early age when I was about 5 years old, usually as kids grow up playing (with) toys I was different, I played with oil tins as drums and I'd sing along, I even had a homemade guitar once, made of fishing line and an oil tin and I'd wake up early in the morning and blast out the yard with noise, hahaha (laughs). Well it all started with my dad as he's a Music lover, I listened to lot of his Records and the love for music started there...I listened to the likes of Spokes H, Mdu, Brenda Fassie back in the days around 1998 and early 2000s, remember kwaito was dominating the most that time. 

Childhood gold he struck as he was able to experience a foreshadowing of what's to come. Being exposed to influential artists in the music scene as heard on the radio and coming from a musical family Gift definitely had a stunning start.  - McKing 

My love for music never stopped there until House Music was introduced to South Africa then that's where I found inspiration to do Music it was around 2001...I then listened to Glen Lewis, Oskido, DJ Fresh, DJ Tokzen, Bojo Mujo etc... Those guys inspired me... I then started Deejaying around 2008 as a Local DJ at Local events until I started Producing in 2012. 

2012 I met Skylitegold in Pretoria the guy who introduced me to music production, since then I became Gift of Africa. It wasn't easy at first, it took me 7years to get things right, I failed many times until I know how to really Produce music, it requires passion, resilience and dedication, I can say I'm a self taught Producer /musician... Nobody taught me anything that's why I had to fail many times to get it right. 

And sometimes we find ourselves with just ingredients, no one to guide us through we go from burning the food to preparing a 5 star delicacy and Gift is a chef's kiss with his work. - McKing 

I started releasing my music Officially on 2021, since then I've got 3 Deephouse Albums in my Name. 

My Music is international, I distribute across the globe, worked with a lot of record Labels and Artists. I released under Deepclicks Records, Round Robin Recordings, Oh So Coy Recordings, Msol DEEP, Msol Records, Deep Compact Records, etc... Worked with, Darles Flow, Lafreq, BisoDeep, Loxion OsnoTvni, Rawbeetz, etc

My goal is to see myself winning a Grammy Award one day, dreams do come true. 

Gift Of Africa has been featured on various platforms of media such as RFM & Metro FM. He's one of biggest stars on the rise and we are excited to see his story be filled with more motivation, success and great accomplishments. This is just the beginning. This is Gift Of Africa!
