Entertainment Avenue: My Picks - SummerSlam Moments

Welcome to my picks where I share my weekly picks ranging from movies,music, fashion and more. This week it's my favourite SummerSlam moments, let's get into it. SummerSlam is like WrestleMania's brother. It's an EPIC event with celebrity guest appearances or major storylines taking place. One of the WWE's top well known PLE.
Let's get to it.

1. John Cena Vs AJ Styles
Hard hitting match. These two wrestlers brought the heat with great in-ring chemistry and bringing some interesting moves to their usual set. John Cena was still the face of the company at that time and AJ was still fresh in the WWE scene, we even had the classic Beat Up John Cena phrase which was popular among fans. They definitely had an engaging rivalry that brought out the best in each other.
2. Kevin Rudolf performing Don't Give Up
What's SummerSlam without a special celebrity guest? Kevin Rudolf who is no stranger to WWE, Season 3 of NXT featured him on the opening theme with Flo-rida. Don't Give Up is a guitar driven ballad, the Divas walked out to it and danced for the crowd.

3. Nikki Bella returns and replaces Eva Marie
After being out of action due to a neck injury Nikki Bella made a surprise return to team up with Alexa Bliss & Natalya against the team of Naomi. Becky & Carmella to a massive pop from the WWE universe. The match was very good to watch and she secured the win with the Rack Attack 2.0 then went on to have an amazing feud with Carmella on SmackDown live which was well received by fans. Nikki had a good run part of the SmackDown brand which showcased her improvement and growth as a wrestler plus her involvement with Total Divas.

4. Damage Ctrl Debuts!!
Damage Ctrl debuts with a returning Bayley as the leader of the pack alongside a re-signed Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky making her main roster debut. It was a beautiful surprise that was jaw dropping as they took to the ring to confront the newly crowned champion Bianca Bel-air. Damage Cntrl went on to be one of the best women's factions as Iyo & Sky captured the women's tag titles and Bayley's star power continued to rise even without winning any Championships. Her in-ring promo segments are gold and we cannot wait for Kai's return so we can see Damage Ctrl's direction.

5. Nikki Bella Turns Heel
Brie Bella & Daniel Bryan had one of the most engaging storylines with the Authority which led to Stephanie McMahon having some entertaining in-ring segments with Brie till their anticipated match at SummerSlam. Nikki Bella found herself tortured by the authority as they put her handicap matches and bullied her as she was guilty by association. During the match she took to the ring to massive cheers only to quickly turn on Brie Bella. It was an unexpected moment and it definitely kicked off Nikki's rise as a wrestler in the women's division as she became the longest reining divas champion after successfully defending it against the likes of Paige. Naomi and other women.
