Big Zulu's Controversial Diss Track

Big Zulu fired up a lot of established talent with his well received diss track and the responses created a conversation of music which felt like South African Hip Hop was getting exciting again. It was truly a highlight for this year. it's all for the love of the culture. Kwesta. Cassper Nyovest. Duncan & K.O all participated to massive reception

Aka & Cassper Nyovest's long running feud.

AKA and Cassper Nyovest are two huge stars who are usually pit against each other by the media and fans, they are both successful in their artistry and have accomplished so much that they created an engagement in music even though at times it felt too much we can't deny how they had us in suspense and wondering who really owns the game? We hope they get along behind the scenes and it's all fun+games.

Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

It's such a blueprint. Kanye dived into a cohesive atmospheric project that thrived in stunning, impressive productions. Songs like Power are timeless hits featured in different forms of entertainment. It's Dark, Sophisticated. Dangerous. Charming & Such a good music.

Drake's Take Care

Another blueprint album which was daring as Drake stepped into this dance infused territory and didn't lose touch with himself but showed he can evolve and step into different genres, sounding good on records.

Nicki Minaj with Pink Friday

It's an impressive debut studio album with cuts such as Moment for Life. Save Me. Super Bass & Roman's Revenge. Minaj created a fun yet meaningful album that will forever be appreciated, showing off her outstanding rap skills, versatility/adaptability to sound. Y'all can call her Mystique.

Eminem featuring Beyoncé

This is an unexpected collaboration between the Love The Way You Lie rapper & XO singer but it had people talking. No one saw it coming and it was a pleasant surprise. We'd love to hear another record from them. Music is powerful that creatives can come together and create something even if they exist in different tones of sound.

Lil Nas X's introduction

He's known for being controversial and stepping out of the play it safe box while some say it's all gimmick and strategy you can't deny that he's someone who challenged the narrative. Even though he's denied in Hip Hop spaces because of toxic masculinity and shifted towards pop. He's an amazing Artist..this industry baby is just getting started.

Jay Cracker's rise

He's an artist on the rise, kicked off in 2021 as many got acquainted with him then but now he's making amazing progress, growing his footprint and inspiring others to go in that direction of working hard towards your desired dream.

Zyle with Ungati Jiketeli

This song is about fatherhood and the absence of it. It's a touching Hip Hop ballad that had everyone opening up, it's true to a real life ongoing story of abandonment. Accompanied by a visual, this was his salute moment for releasing a record that has a massive impact on the masses.

Cassper Nyovest's Fill Up The Dome

He's always doing something new and amazing even breaking his own records or doing better than before. Cassper is a pioneer and he's inspiring the masses to go Bigger or stay broke.

Locnville with Sun In My Pocket

This debut made a massive statement. A timeless release that's electric, booming on beat and unforgettable. They are the Kings of the lower register, it's amazing how they use it so well. They don't need flashy high notes because their delivery is impressive.

Ricky Rick - Boss Zonke

It was like a national anthem. The chorus is catchy and so luxurious yet carrying that Kasi feel to it. The late rapper sure released some beautiful music, expressing himself especially his love for fashion. This song will always be played on and on and on.

Kwesta with Dakar II

One of the best selling records and he's serving the Hip Hop scene with a South African flavor it lacked. He linked the roots and sprouted something beautiful to listen to.

K. O with SeTe

He's a brilliant brand in music. Someone who stays in his territory yet keeps it fresh and not in repeat of the same recipe with a cherry on top. No he knows how to vibe something new with his music.

Baddest Remix

In a male dominated genre. AKA gave our female rappers the spotlight to shine and show off their talent. Most remixes have the best gentlemen in the game serving bars but this time, the ladies took center stage and owned it.

Rouge - Mbongo Zaka Ft. Moozlie

They just wanna get paid. It's a get your money anthem yet two women in music came together and brought the Zaka home. It's catchy, glitters its way with aggressive beats to a turn up fest. It's a fun record especially the creativity on the vocals.

There are many amazing moments in music, these are our favorites. What are yours? Join in the conversation.
