THEME: WHAT YOU GIVE IS WHAT YOU ARE ASKING FOR!

TEXT: [NLT] MATTHEW 7:11

If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

When it comes to receiving from God, what must be duly considered is not what He wants to give but rather what you have to give. To receive something from God, then you must have released something to Him. You can ask to receive from God but the best way to receive from God is to give to Him. To receive a gift or a blessing from God, you shouldn't be considering what to ask for or how to ask. Asking God for a blessing or a gift should be done by giving to promote what will glorify Him. Getting yourself involved in what glorifies God is enough to provoke the release of His blessing upon your life.

In [NKJV] John 15:16, Jesus said; You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. Going to bear fruit simply means going to win souls and making them remain simply requires discipleship. Soul winning and discipleship requires so much efforts and resources. To obey God as touching soul winning and discipleship, you have to give all that you can to make it happen. It is your obedience to the command of God regarding soul winning and discipleship that will open up to you the privilege to ask Him for anything and He will do it for you. When you go all the way to do what delights God, He will do the same for you.

According to the focal scripture for today's devotional message, the Bible elucidates how God can give good gifts to those who ask Him. God is the giver of good and perfect gifts. The difference between men and God is that men can only give good gifts but God can give both good and perfect gifts. James 1:17 testifies that every good and perfect gifts comes from God and He is always ready to give these gifts to those who ask Him out of the abundance that they have also given to Him. Even though you shouldn't have the mindset of giving to receive from God but the principle of giving is synonymous to the law of sowing and reaping. As whatever you sow is what you will reap, it is whatever you give that will determine what you will receive. If you want to receive good and perfect gifts from God, then you have to give Him quality time, quality service and quality commitment. God knows how to give good gifts but that's to only those who give Him quality time, service and commitment.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the revelation of Your Word. Now that I know that If I want to receive good and perfect gifts from You, then I have to give You quality time, quality service and quality commitment. Please Lord, help me to give You quality time, quality service and quality commitment so that I can receive the manifold good and perfect gifts that You have prepared to give to those who give You quality time, service and commitment in Jesus Christ name.
