And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested.


Apart from faith and obedience, prayer is also a protocol breaker because it is a means of communicating with God and there's no how you can get to communicate with God and some protocols won't be broken in and around your life. The protocol that can be broken by your prayers is the protocol of misfortune. To be misfortuned in life is to lack what it takes to be successful and prosperous in life. Misfortune is not part of the details of God's plans for your life but once it is noticed to be influencing your life, then there is need for you to utilize the weapon of fervent prayers to get the protocol broken completely.


According to the focal scripture for today's devotional message, the Bible elucidates how Jabez utilized the weapon of fervent prayer to get the protocol of misfortune broken off his life and destiny. Jabez grew only to know that he was misfortuned. Jabez grew only to know that there is absolutely nothing about him that tends to bring glory to God. Jabez grew only to know that he was named Jabez because his mother gave birth to him in pain. Everything others did that made them successful, Jabez did and failed. Everything others did that made them prosperous, Jabez did and it didn't yield any prosperous result to him. So it was indeed evident that Jabez was misfortuned.
For anyone experiencing the same thing Jabez experienced, there is a hope because he didn't die misfortuned. Jabez prayed and the Lord answered him. If you can pray fervently, the protocol of misfortune will be broken off your life and destiny completely. The prayers Jabez prayed seemed to be a very simple prayer but it was prayed fervently and God answered him. Jabez knew everything he needed for the protocol of misfortune to be broken off his life and destiny and as he communicated them to God through prayers, the protocol was broken. God can get the protocol of misfortune broken off your life and destiny but you have to engage Him in fervent prayers concerning your life so that He can intervene.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the revelation of Your Word. Now that I know that the protocol of misfortune can be broken off my life and destiny completely if I can pray fervently. Please Lord help me to pray fervently so that as I begin to pray, every protocol of misfortune can be broken off my life and destiny completely in Jesus Christ name.
