Don't just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good.






Showing love to others is something that so many people don't find it easy doing. Showing love to others as commanded by God must be done with absolute sincerity. Love must be without any iota of pretense. It's either you show love to others or you don't. Pretending to love others is hypocrisy of the highest order and it is actually very wrong anytime any day. The word coming to you today is that you shouldn't pretend that you love others when you can actually love them sincerely, deeply and truly. Anything whatsoever that God commands you to do, He doesn't want you to hide under pretense while doing it but to do it with sincerity and that is exactly what will ensure that you don't go unrewarded.

According to the focal scripture for today's devotional message, the Bible elucidates how to love others and it is very simple. God doesn't want any form of hypocrisy to be found within His people and that is why anything whatsoever that will promote hypocrisy must be done with. Pretense is one of the offsprings of hypocrisy. Pretending to love other people is not what God is expected from you. God wants you to really love others so much that there won't be room for any hatred or bitterness against someone within you. Hatred and bitterness doesn't just come up suddenly. They both come in a subtle manner and one way they can come through is through pretentious acts. Anything whatsoever that you are doing pretentiously is not real and anything that is not real can never command any reward from God.

Pretense is doing something outside the track of sincerity. Some people are not just pretending to love others only but also pretending to love God. They do so many things before men to show that they really love God but they actually don't love God. Love comes with certain responsibilities and commitments. Pretense will help you to limit or reduce the way you ought to be responsible and remain committed. Whatever you start with pretense will definitely wear you out so soon that you won't even have any interest in doing it again. You can't eradicate the love walk from your walk with God. The evident proof that you are walking with God is that you are walking in love. Therefore, don't just pretend that you love others. Really love them and by doing that, God will really be pleased with you.




PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the revelation of Your Word. Now that I know that I can't eradicate the love walk from my walk with You because the evident proof that I'm walking with You is that I'm walking in love. Please Lord, help me to love You and love others sincerely and truly so that my commitment towards you and towards others won't be limited by any pretentious act in Jesus Christ name.
